Review: Millennium by The Trusted

Review by Isabelle Turner

Following the path of the greats in challenging rock standards, The Trusted is soon to be your favorite indie-rock band. Their latest single “Millennium” is a pristine, edgy, and authentic track that proves the talent amongst The Trusted.

The Trusted, made up of Dave Batchelor, Dale Hold-Mead, Fin Cunningham, and Tom Cunningham, is a UK-based band that has already made airwaves worldwide. Inspired by the likes of other 21st century Brit-rock experts such as The 1975 and The Killers, The Trusted has fused their way into this classic genre with ease. With these influences, The Trusted is very apparently defying traditions of indie-rock to create something beautiful of their own.

Their latest track “Millennium” discusses growing up in the early 21st century while being overwhelmed with information and innovation. The Trusted share that, “It’s so easy to lose yourself in an ever-increasing noisy society”. With a story that many know all too well, this track oozes authenticity and is endlessly-playable.

“Millennium” has a steady beat that carries perfectly over a story. With a beat so prominent, it is impossible to not want to dance to this song. The track is catchy, brilliant, yet provides a sense of ease that is difficult to create within indie-rock. “Millennium” is the perfect introduction to The Trusted, and one to become quickly addicted to.

With their edgy, yet cool mentality, The Trusted has the talent and ability to become among the greats in Brit-rock and we are so excited to be able to watch them do it.

Stream “Millennium” here and be sure to follow The Trusted on Instagram and Facebook for their next great thing.
