‘turn back the time’ really makes me want to do exactly that- turn back time to the feeling I felt when listening to the song for the first time. In the track, artist smythy perfectly encapsulates sounds of summer and nostalgia. With the always appreciable combination of a catchy beat and thoughtful production, I couldnt resist tapping my foot along to the song. In the opening lyrics, smythy sings “Take your time she looks you in the eye, she's filled with patience honey” really grabbed my attention as a listener right from the get go. From beginning to end, the track remained engaging with its captivating beat and catchy lyrical phrasing.
Ultimately, if you are starting to curate your 2022 summer roadtrip playlist like myself, ‘turn back the time’ by smythy is an undeniable add in my eyes. From its enduring beat to it’s engaging lyrics, you’re going to want to be turning back the time to have this song on repeat all summer long.
