Review: Apologies to an Empty Room by June Rosewell

Nashville-based June Rosewell's music is entrancing and nostalgic, showcasing her earnest vulnerability. Her single “Apologies to an Empty Room” is authentically familiar from the first note and we can’t get enough of the rising star.

Bursting into the music scene in June of 2021, Rosewell has already proven herself a force to be dealt with. Her authenticity and bittersweet lyrics are beautifully unique and has listeners addicted to her soulful and emotional words. “Apologies to an Empty Room” is expressively heartfelt and describes the loneliness of heartbreak. She sings, 

“I suppose that I let you be my dreamer. 

Sorry if I broke you, 

Or exposed all of your broken pieces, 

Till you slip out from my hands’ cracked creases.” 

With hard-hitting lyrics, Rosewell transcends the heartbreak of her relationship to listeners, highlighting the vulnerability of her music. The beautiful ode to a relationship is enhanced by a polished production and mesmerizing vocals. Perfecting authenticity and vulnerability, June Rosewell has carved her place in the music industry and is here to stay.
