Q&A: Alesandra

Can you introduce yourself?

Hi, I am Alesandra. I am from Gladwyne PA but I currently reside on in the west village in NYC. I am a sophomore studying contemporary vocal performance at NYU.

Can you describe this release in three words?

moody. energetic, introspective

What were the first and last parts that you wrote “Deep End”?

I actually wrote the chorus first and verse last, which for me as a songwriter is different than my typical writing process

What’s your favorite lyric or production element of “Deep End”?

My favorite lyric of deep end is “i’m falling i’m falling, i’m falling fast”

Did you learn anything new about yourself while working on this song?

I learned that i really like adding electronic instrumentation to my music such as synths and layering my music. All of my music I made was just piano ballads, but since working on deep end I love that it is faster.

Is there a certain place that you feel the most creative in?

I feel most creative when I am sitting alone at my piano in my apartment. Being in a quiet place that I feel comfortable in, is what helps me be most creative

What was on your playlist as you worked “Deep End”?

bury a friend billie Ellish, the walls are way to thin by Holly Humberstone, when we were young Adele, Criminal by Fiona Apple!

If you could transport listeners to the perfect location to hear “Deep End” for the first time, what would that place be?

Oddly, blasting the song while driving on the highway. the song has a really good pick up and is energizing!

If you had to describe your music to someone who couldn’t hear, how would you describe it?

moody and energetic

What comes next for you?

Since this is my first single, I am going to be releasing more music in the next couple of months! and am working on building a fan base.

Make sure to listen to “Deep End” on Spotify and follow Alesandra on Instagram to see what she’s up to next!
