Single Review: Optimistic by J-Minu$

New single “optimistic” by J-Minu$, showcases the plagueing thoughts of anything but; a catchy anthem that acknowledges the difficulties and internal struggles, “optimistic” encourages listeners to continue their pursuit towards whatever they’re working towards. J, a Texas native who has been writing and creating from the young age of 16, has been hard at work and hustling ever since.

From recording in his family’s food truck to working a full time job and other side gigs in addition to the music, J has proven his dedication and determination towards success. With a reach of over 100,000 Spotify streams, his hard work has not gone unnoticed. His debut single “day by day” has already surpassed 95,000 streams, despite just releasing in the prior months of 2021. With another single, “another love,” and now “optimistic,” the singer-songwriter is gearing up towards the coming release of his debut album; and has proven that the hustle and grind does not stop with him.

J has felt a deep attachment to music from a significantly young age. Taking those influences and creating stylistic aspects of his own, J is inspired by the likes of Juice World, Michael Jackson, Post Malone, Big Sean, and more, J has created a sound that is truly cinematic in nature. A combination of bedroom and hyper pop, the singer-songwriter has crafted music that is truly his own in all aspects.

With “optimistic,” J acknowledges the anxiety and stress that comes along with seeing success. Despite doing extraordinary well with his first two releases, mental and emotional barriers still exist. “optimistic” speaks to the musicians faced with these struggles and seeks to inspire them to continue to persevere. J encourages others to try to take an optimistic approach to their mentality and vision and continue moving forward and manifesting their dreams.
