Can you introduce yourself?
We are Annakye we are from The Central Coast, New South Wales Australia, we are a six piece band with two front singers Cameron and Luca on vocals , Richard lead guitar, Carlos, bass, Ben rhythm, guitar, Joel Drums.
Can you describe "Headstart" in three words?
Energy , fun excitement.
What were the first and last parts of "Headstart" to be written?
We actually wrote the song in about 20 minutes. I had an idea and I just went for it. We all got together in my Lounge Room and we all put our little bits and pieces and touches into the song to make it what it is, and we couldn’t be happier.
What’s your favorite lyric or production element of "Headstart"?
Definitely the line -
But you left me in the dark
Two seconds apart “Headstart
I love the stops and starts in it .
It’s different to our other songs ..
Did you learn anything new about yourself while creating this song?
I learnt to just have fun let go and enjoy the ride 🤘
Is there a certain place that you feel the most creative in?
I like to write at Home, sometimes when Rich, my Guitarist sends me a song. It’s almost like the Music speaks to me and takes me on a journey to write something for it.

The pixies , blink-182 Bad Omens I prevail & garbage & Sincere Engineer
If you could transport listeners to the perfect location to hear "Headstart" for the first time, what would that place be?
Definitely in a smash room where you can just smash things release all your negativity. Get all your frustrations out that you’ve had for the past, however many months and just smash it out while listening to this song. here in Australia, we went to a place down in Sydney and smashed a whole lot of stuff.
If you had to describe your music to someone who couldn’t hear, how would you describe it?
By jumping around, waving my hands and rocking out while doing crazy dance moves lol
What comes next for you?
We just finished filming in a smash room here in Sydney Australia, smashing up all sorts of things plates , tvs .. we ended up with one busted finger and glass in a foot but was a whole Lotta fun. soon we will be recording our next lot of songs and releasing them in 2024. In the meantime we’re playing a couple of last shows before having a few weeks off for Christmas and New Year’s eve. and returning for 2024 and we can’t wait.
