Greta Van Fleet Gallery & Live Show Review

Photos and Review by: Jazmin Tuscani (@encapturedphotos on Instagram)

When trying to put together this review, we kept trying to summarize something that goes way beyond what can be described. Greta Van Fleet surpassed all expectations on this new Dreams In Gold tour—and it’s just getting started. From the moment the well-anticipated curtain drops to the iconic drum solos that echoed throughout the venue, it was clear all four members were ready to get back on the road.

Greta has been making their way across their home state this week and next starting their tour off strong. With five dates back in Michigan, their fans are traveling all over the globe—some from the next city over, some from further countries like Croatia and London. They huddled outside for hours waiting for general admission but that didn’t stop them from bringing some of the best energy we seen when each band appeared.

We got the opportunity to attend Greta’s Grand Rapids stop March 12th and were blown away. While they played songs new and old, their set design has stepped up since last tour. They played off concepts that represented their albums artwork/designs—crafting it to make fire and smoke an additive to their overall theme. They played songs like “You’re the One” and “Caravel” which lead the crowd to repeat back lyrics to the band louder than ever. We were rooting for Danny (drummer), who has been placed near the pyrotechnics, the whole night since we could feel the heat all the way from the barricade.

Not to mention their opening bands, the velveteers and Rival Sons. Both well crafted in originality, they brought something new to the table and hyped up the arena before Greta’s set. Even though the set for the Velveteers is a shorter time slot, that didn’t stop them from activity interacting with the crowd during their solos. And not to mention, Rival sons, blew away the crowd with an amazing sound. The crowd had been fully mesmerized by Jay Buchanan’s (Lead singer) vocals. It is clear and such an amazing opportunity to experience two more great bands continually paving a way in the rock scene.

If you are planning to attend a stop, we won’t spoil the special details they are planning specifically for each stop. But we will let you know that it is good to see all four band members giving it their all on stage—especially on stages in their home state. Greta’s attention to the live music experience is immaculate and creates for such a unique and personal story. Whether you’ve been following Greta Van Fleet for years or even a few months, you will start to see right away the connection and unity the fans and Greta Van Fleet have with each other. We highly suggest you snag a ticket for this worldwide tour and create some of the best memories you will get experience first hand.
